Giving Tuesday

UPDATE:

On #GivingTuesday, you helped us raise $5720 from 11 donations, AND acquired 3 new monthly donors! Thanks to you, we will be able to help at least 100 animals in the coming weeks. The work ROAR does is only possible with the help of our supporters, so thank you for a great #GivingTuesday!

Sick animals & overpopulation is never-ending work, and you can continue giving throughout the year.

You Can Help Roatan’s Animals on #GivingTuesday

Roatan Operation Animal Rescue is once again participating in #GivingTuesday, tomorrow November 29, 2022! It’s a global day of generosity that takes place every year after Thanksgiving and all the shopping deals. This global movement unleashes the power of radical generosity to transform communities and the world. Even in times of economic uncertainty, we each have a deep reserve of kindness and caring, which we can deploy in myriad ways to make a difference – your time, your skills, and your voice are all things you can give in addition to charitable donations. Grassroots generosity and community action are powerful forces for good!

THANK YOU to everyone who has supported ROAR’s mission since the beginning!

As we enter our fifth year, we continue expanding our efforts on Roatan in a manner that best serves the community, supports the animal population, and effects change. This year we took the initiative to become a Honduran-registered NGO as a demonstration of our commitment to the island community

We serve the community via our mobile vet unit fitted with equipment and supplies, enabling us to care for animals where they live. Our day-to-day mobile activities include administering preventatives, providing education, treating minor medical issues, and assessing the need for veterinarian intervention. We have space to transport many animals at once to a veterinary clinic for cases that require clinical treatment or surgery, and it also enables us to operate our spay/neuter clinics right where the animals are – bringing the care directly to the patient.

To date in 2022, we have sterilized more than 300 animals, helped pet owners access veterinary care for at least 250 animals, and continued caring for the 35 abandoned Palm Beach horses until they were finally rehomed in late September. NONE of this would be possible without your support!

We believe that working in the colonias with pet owners, community leaders, and educators is the most sustainable way to create a long-lasting, healthy environment for Roatan’s animals. See our blog posts for more on how your donations have been utilized this year!

Can we count on your support?

All of our work is accomplished by a 100% volunteer team, and we rely entirely on donations to support this important effort. Please take a moment to make a donation today that will help save the lives of so many animals on our island. If possible, PLEASE consider becoming a monthly sustaining donor! Knowing we can count on your monthly support ensures that our community feeding programs, clinics, and educational classes in the schools will continue without interruption!

Will you help us reach our #GivingTuesday donation goals?
